Craft Pottery Iso-Pahkala – Local and unique crafts

Isopahkala

Craft Pottery Iso-Pahkala is a family-owned craft pottery in Kalajoki, founded in the 1970s and now run by the second generation of craft artists, Mr. Antti Iso-Pahkala. Iso-Pahkala pottery is well known for the durability, unique colours as well as using local patterns and shapes in the items. Some items even have the local sand from the Hiekkasärkät – Sand Dunes area, used in them. The sea also plays an important role in the design. When visiting the pottery, we will hear the story behind this artistic family, see them at work and follow the crafts way from the potter’s wheel to the oven and as the final product in the shop. On our visit it is possible to buy the Iso-Pahkala items. Iso-Pahkala craft pottery is introduced by a local guide and the entrepreneur himself.
