Craft pottery Iso-Pahkala was founded in 1972 in Kalajoki, a family-owned company producing high-burning stoneware ceramics, in the vicinity of the Sand Dunes of Kalajoki. They manufacture pottery, giftware, corporate gifts, and unique and artistic items. The premise of the pottery workshop are divided into two separate parts: the production / studio premises and the sales exhibition building, which also houses the café Seili in summer.

The kantele is the national instrument of Finland and a symbol of national identity often depicted in national romantic art. It’s a string instrument not closely related to the harp although there are similarities. The instrument has been estimated to have existed for some 2000 years.
